j mascis squeir jazzmaster - low e string keeps slipping off
anyone know how to properly address this? only happens when i play hard live but really annoying. its been recently set up at a guitar shop already. regular 10-46 gauge strings.

Is that bridge on backwards? This was happening oddly enough on my J Mascis Jazzmaster (Purple Sparkle) and I had the bridge backwards.
Here is a pic of my guitar when I had the bridge backwards and you can see the Low E is popping off the bridge. Might be worth considering.
Just look and see if the grooves on the two E saddles are different sizes.

I know it's a little different with the Squier model since the tremolo is closer to the bridge.George wrote:turning the bridge round may help i guess, but overall i think it may be due to a lack of break angle to the bridge, which yeah, a buzz stop would fix, but so might a shim. i dunno tough call.
filing the groove deeper would definitely help but knock off the radius a bit
