Super-Sonic Restore

Post by HNB »

I got this in trade. Always wanted to try one out. I love the upside down lefty look. The body has some stuff that I wanted to try to fix. I heard Dots wanted to flip it lefty so there were some holes drilled for a plate and strap button. There is/was also a large chip of paint in the contour area. I did some zpoxy filling and sanding. Doesn't look pretty, but it is getting back to smooth so I can do a fresh layer of black to get it looking more pristine. :)

Hard to see but there used to be four small drilled holes here.

Large chip I filled/sanded around.

Once I get paid again, I will pick up some 600 grit sandpaper to sand it for spraying and some black and clear paint. Should look great when I am done. :)

Yeah, it was yours. I didn't end up getting along with the balance of the guitar. I know it's in good hands now.

Cool, just keepin track of who has the old girl now.

Also, it wasn't dots who wanted to flip it lefty, it was me who actually had it flipped lefty.

I got her flipped back right handed and wired up before I sent it to HNB.

Long time no post on this. I honestly forgot that I still had this to work on a couple times but now I am back on it. I am going to paint the body matte black and it will have a glossier black guard. There are just a couple areas I wanted to put a little more filler in before I do final sanding to paint. :)

Got some black on as a primer so I can check for areas needing smoothing still.

Pickguard is basically done. It looks like the same wear it had as a white guard, but black. :)

ImageIMG_6846 by Hentai No Baka, on Flickr

Also just finished the third round of black on the body. (Second round with the flat black.)

It is looking like a tank. I am pretty happy with it. I am using paint made for painting wood and metal grills. This one will have TONZ and FLAME resistant. LOL
