Strats for cunts

Post by Thom »

New Fender Select 2014 models:
http://www.fender.com/en-GB/series/fender-select/
The 2014 Fender Select Stratocaster® Exotic guitars certainly live up to their name, with atypical and highly distinctive wood figures in their flame or quilt maple tops.

No two instruments are identical, and the swirling, almost marbled quality of the wood figure is highlighted to even more beautiful effect by each guitar’s gloss finish.

These Stratocaster guitars launch the Fender Select series into 2014 with more style and performance than ever, including a new rosewood neck model with a striking "channel-bound" fingerboard and compound radius (9.5"-14").

Yeah, like Blade and Suhr.

I kind of like the Telecaster HH.

I must share my shame with you guys. Get it out in the open. I was at GC the other day and there was this flamey strat sitting there on the rack. I was like OH GOD MY EYES!, but it was so shiny and flamey I had to pick it up and touch it. Then I played it and a I instantly felt shame in the fact that it was a super nice guitar. Flame top, mahogany back and neck was sweet. MIJ Fender thing.

Then there was this sparkly gold top shecter tele, with dark stained mahogany back an HH set up. I didn't want to, but I had to play it and it was nice too. I think I need help.

I just walked away, this was the first time, it has never happened to me before. Am I normal? Maybe I need to go to the store with a buddy, like swimming or some thing.

I gotta say... encasing the fretboard into the neck wood makes a lot of sense to me, from a construction point of view.
I doubt this will yield any of the sonic properties the ad would have us believe but I find the whole idea of this appeals very much to my mild organizational OCD. It`s fucking neat.

Agree 100%. Interested in seeing some of the necks on ebay. The bodies are heinous.
