I got to play a 1966 Jaguar the other day!

So, I had been looking for someone to work on my '77 Univox Hi-Flyer bass, to no avail, for a while.

A few weeks ago, i saw a listing, on craigslist, for a sweeeet MiJ 60's Mosrite reissue. So, on a whim i emailed the seller to see if he/she knew anyone that worked on this style of guitar/bass. Well, the dude just so happened to work on them himself! He just scours the internet for deals on guitars/basses/pedals/amps/etc. and fixes+re-sells them.

So, i met up with him over the weekend, and while i was stoked to have my Hi-Flyer returned to original specs and working order... DUDE HAD A 1966 FENDER JAGUAR! I'm not much of a guitarist at all, but damn... it was absolutely incredible. So here are some lousy pics:

Anywho... dude might be selling the Jag, if anyone's interested i can give some contact info!

Yeah, dude has wonderful taste.

Case in point: This was the Mosrite that started it all:

LOVE my hi-flyer. My goal was to get the original pickups back in working order. A previous owner had some Gretsch Filtertrons installed for a quick solution, because the originals "were broken". While the replacement pickups in-and-of themselves aren't a huge issue, they GLUED particalboard in the pickup cavity to mount them. So it took some effort (and lots of vinegar) to remove the particle board and glue to get the originals back in. Mechanically, the originals' ground wire had detached from the pickup coils. So it was a quick/easy solder job and it's good as new! Got the originals re-installed last night:

Awesome! That's a beautiful bass.

That's a Phase 2, right? IIRC, Phase 1 and 2 had the P90s and rosewood fingerboards, but Phase 1's had the plastic glued-on logo and they changed to that awesome printed Logo in '71 with the Phase 2.

Mine's a Phase 3... i'm a sucker for Maple fingerboards. I just bought an Eastwood Hi-Flyer (a 'treat yo self' moment to celebrate a new job promotion), so i'll have that rosewood as well!
