Wiring a Boss type 9v socket to a Turbo Rat

I want to fit a Boss type 9v socket to my Turbo Rats, but I wanted to make sure I'm doing it correctly so I don't fry my pedal. I have found a diagram on the web that explains how to wire a typical pedal:

However, in my pedals I can see the wire from the existing power jack which goes to the battery clip, the wire that goes to the circuit board but I have a wire which goes from the input jack, connects to the 9v jack and the connects to the output jack - this differs from the diagram. The diagram shows it going to the battery clip and not the output jack. Should I wire it to the output jack or keep the wiring as it is currently?

Just get an adapter that plugs in where the battery would. That's what I did with my RAT.

I have the correct headphon jack type connectors that the Turbo Rats need, I just wanted to tidy up my pedal board by being able to connect my daisy chain straight to the pedals without the connectors.

I figured it wouldn't be too much bother or cost, as long as I was sure I was doing it correctly. Although now I'm wondering if I've got a drill bit big enough to make a hole in the case big enough, so I may not be able to do it anyway. But I'd still welcome some advice.

You'll need a 12.5mm bit or a 12mm and some wigglin to get that guy in there.

There are three contacts on that jack

as you're holding it:

top - 9V - to circuit
right - 9V - to battery clip +
left (large) - GND

If you want the input jack to be switching still for when you use batteries you connect the ground here (and the battery - wire) to the RING of the input jack and then the SLEEVE of the input jack is the GND for the circuit itself. They are only connected when a jack is present, and not when not so the battery won't drain

If you don't care about that and will never use batteries just wire this lug to the SLEEVE.
