I agree with George. It took me many years and many guitars to realize that my small hands actually prefer the 25.5 scale. A Jazzmaster with a slender neck did the trick for me.

i thought short scale were cool until i tried play a chord above the 7th fret and was like oh ok i dont have childrens fingers i need a regular one

My experience with shortscales was similar. I had a lot of trouble squeezing my fingers into certain positions.

All along, I incorrectly assumed that my trouble with certain guitars was due to scale length, when really neck shape was the issue.

When in doubt, 24.75 is a very safe scale. +1 Les Poole.

Yeh even on my sg I feel crowded at times and that's a really slender neck innit
