More images to come, it has a BAD neck break, poorly repaired, but my luthier looked at it and said it is workable. Now the real trick, some guys from 38 special signed it, then they cleared over it. It's going to be a long road, but let's see how this goes...

This thing will stay ghetto looking, single coil route? Duct taped like my jazzcaster. Hippy paint job? Stickers can cover that up. Autographs? Well if they weren't cleared over I would just use lighter fluid, but I am a bit stumped now. Thoughts? It cost less than some squires, so a refin isn't out of the question, but I would like to keep the finish if possible. Repair/respray the top and blend the neck after repair?

Well for now with that guitar and the way the neck is, when you play it you will want to hold on loosley and don't let go.

If I had this I'd treat it as the perfect opportunity to try out that re reranch custom color I've always been wanting to see a Gibson in. If this is "squier money" I'm assuming you spent around $350? Good score!

What is there beyond Squier moneyz? MIM money? Pawn shop money? Because right now I'm Affinity poor but when summer comes around I'll be makin' sum sweet Classic Vibe- money. Or at least Vintage Modified.

Tracking has shown the guitar has landed, will update when my luthier gets back to me with an overview

Neck still has movement so they will need to take it off and rework it. Signatures don't seem to be too deep under clearcoat so buffing out might be possible. Pickups arrived, as did the baseplates to convert to soapbars, I also reached out to tony to see if a custom double cut guard can cover that middle route

Pics to follow this weekend hopefully

The signatures probably raise the value of that guitar by at least 500$.

Alright, where to start...

Bridge pickup was vintage super distortion, middle looked like 70's fender so they are out. Neck pickup is working so it will stay put, and seeing how decent the bridge route is, I am considering a dummy ring like gibson used on deluxes in the 70's, where can I find one though?

Headstock will definitely need to be reopened, but the real bad news, the previous owner scratched hippy into the finish. For now we are going to get rid of the signatures, and as much of the piss poor paint job as possible, it's such a shame as the rest of the finish is beautifully aged and checked. I have no issues putting a sticker over the hippy paint, but talk about poor life decisions.

I also have the guard ready to start making a template for pickguardian, but does anyone know where I can get the dummy rings?

I have no idea why you are changing anything on that guitar aside from the plate tectonic shit going on with the neck.

Yeah, I'd keep it the way it is and just fix the neck. Looks like a nice jammer.

I would keep it the way it is other than fixing the neck. Hell, bring it down to Jacksonville Fla in that conditions and it will probably get you laid, or a hummer at minimum.

dude yeah, it's a gibson so the neck break is going to happen if you bring it in contact with rock n roll. the .38 special sigs are fucking awesome, keep them. i would prob get rid of the hippy shit with a sticker, but keep it like it is.

Pickguard and dummy rings are in to cover the humbucker route.
