So, was in London town this weekend and had already planned to treat myself to a belated bday present. Going in, I was planning on a deluxe memory man. Headed to Wunjo Guitars (ace, ace shop, with SUPER helpful and friendly staff). They had a DMM, but I fancied trying the EQD Disaster Transport too. Between the two, the DT came out tops, and seemed the most useable in various settings. I could make the DMM sound great, but I couldn't make it sound as great across all the different settings. Plus it's fucking massive, which is a ball ache. I like having the ability to switch off the mod when I want to too. On a side note, they game me a Skreddy Echo to try too. Holy fucking dick. It was UNREAL. I very nearly bought it instead, and my wife wanted me to get it. But in the end, it was too specific a sound. Very post rock, but it truly did make anything I played sound out of this world. Maybe another day.
Anyway, here's the wee beastie, and I'm very very pleased. The repeats are nice and warm, but you can make them a fair bit brighter with the tone knob. I've been using it for longish atmospheric stuff to begin with, but it's actually real great for just fattening up your tone too. Having the time about 400 ms, the mix doubt 10 o'clock, and a fast shallow modulation makes for a really nice thickening up, and slight after wash for chords and riffs. Overall I'm super pleased with it.
Oh, and it's tremendous with some OD
