GFS floating Xtrem...

Post by dezb1 »

Anyone tried one of these? After looking at the price of a real bigsby and the mixed reviews of the bigsby knock offs, I had a look for an alternative. I've ordered one of them for the Goldtop (for the Neil young vibe), or my Riviera if I don't like it on the Goldtop as I'm after a guitar with a trem but don't want another guitar (at the moment).

yes i have one. it's really really good and i would recommend it. DO NOT use the "washer method" they describe on their site though. you need to screw it in properly. also you may need to redrill your gold top strap pin position. mine is not symmetrical and so the strings go lop sided on their way to the tail piece.

Have you got one of these on your Goldtop? Do you have any pics...

it's not on it at the moment. it looked good but the strings fed into the bridge at an angle. it also ripped out the strap pin cos i followed the washer method. i need to redrill the strap pin position then install properly. probably be doing it tomorrow

no it came through with no bother, however this was using discount codes and shortly after christmas so maybe it was low enough that they didn't care because it was so busy

My wife the optimists has pointed out that the old guy next door has been on holiday for the last couple of weeks, and maybe he took it in for me before he left and didn't get a chance to hand it in.

Errrgghhh.... I'm 'this' close to banhammering any more of my business for GFS. Every order has turned into a shower of shit with maybe 10% exception to that rule. So BORED of it now.
