Zexcoil pickups

Post by Dan12 »

Hey all - just signed up for the forum, nice to meet everyone. Just wondering if anyone has tried out and/or has an opinion about Zexcoil pickups, in particular the juicy and throaty bucker .

I recently installed a juicy bucker into the bridge of my squier mustang and actually really like it. I know a lot of people out their route their mustangs to install a full humbucker in the bridge position and theres no doubt that a full humbucker has a sound to it that a can never fully be reached using a single coil, however my initial impressions about the zexcoil pickup is that the sustain is amazing, harmonics are great and it really does seem to have a humbucker sound to it rather than a single coil trying to be a humbucker.

I would reccomend it for anyone who wants to keep the stock look of their mustang but wants a humbucker sound from one or both pickups. Now if I could only find a cover for it that makes it look stock rather than the "signature" diagonal cutout look

Haha - I actually don't have anything to do with zexcoil. I was learning to mod by working on a squier mustang and actualy found a post on a random forum about those pickups. I impulse bought one, figuring that at least I wouldnt have to route the body and was impressed by it :D

Just wanted to post here to see if anyone else had used them and what kind of experience they had if so, especially if they put one in the neck because now I am considering it. Just picked up a MIJ 96 stang and am debating whether to put these pickups in it

Sorry the last post came across so salesman like :P

What the fuck is a Juicy Throater? It sounds like some kind of intense BJ, not a guitar pickup. Do they have Reamer or Rimmer pickups as well?
