Don't know what you're complaining about the guy got it to you in one piece his packing worked... Jiffy bag on the headstock is GENIUS!!!
he's a lucky boy the guitar the claim i put in last month for damage caused to the resonator guitar by Parcelforce, was declined yesterday due to insufficient packing... They said it should have been in a hard shell case! (put in an appeal)
I wouldn't say anything - but I wouldn't give good feedback either. I'm meticulous about packaging, especially with set necks. Oh and happy NGD - we where chatting about SGs last week! If it is the one with P90s and a late 60s style guard then it looks great, but fuck some Gibson naming. That is an SG Special, but they can't use that name because they used it for the 2 x HB no binding model that I have!
Dezb1 - Tell Parcelfarce to shove it up their arse (politely of course). I assume you weren't given T&Cs that insisted upon a hard case before sending the guitar, and the courier accepted the parcel, and the associated insurance? It isn't feasable to send every guitar in a hard case and they know that.

my email to the Parcelforce appeals team:
I checked on the status of my claim today to find it had been rejected on the grounds of 'Insufficient packaging' on calling and speaking to one of your customer care team I was told under your terms and conditions the guitar should have been in a 'hard case'. This is not stated anywhere in the terms and conditions I was issued with when I booked your service. A hard case for a guitar is not packaging it is a significant purchase of at the very least £70, the guitar I sent was in a professional grade purpose made padded guitar gig bag. In addition to this it was in a purpose made box for posting guitars (the same one use guitar stores) to say the guitar was insufficiently packed is simply untrue. I would like to appeal the outcome of the claim on the grounds that your findings are unsubstantiated.
If you're findings do not change on further consideration I would like the address of your customer complaints dept, as your apparent need for guitars to be in a hard case for posting is unreasonable, and is not outlined clearly in your terms and conditions.
Snap it in half and tell him it broke in transit. Sounds like that's what you wish'd happened. As Shad said, it worked, whether by luck or by adequacy.
I had a guitar broken by USPS and they denied my claim and the appeal saying it had to be in a hard case to be granted the insurance. I told them that it isn't in their shipping requirements or on the insurance form and that I shouldn't have been allowed to purchase insurance if my item was uninsurable as packed. They also should not have accepted my package if it was not packed as they required. I used a ton of bubble wrap, paper wrap, etc. My box arrived like it was ran over by a steam roller and the headstock was cracked on both sides. I had pictures of it before packing and pictures of it packed up. Didn't matter. They made up a rule to get out of paying. I haven't paid for shipping insurance since. Not worth the money and wasted time.
I think whenever possible negative feedback should be reserved for shiesty types and those who refuse to address problems, not well-meaning dozy prats... so while this is certainly an extreme example (because harm basically should've come of that thing), I'm gravitating towards the "no harm done" camp.
In the past I had a guitar shipped to me via one service I deliberately avoid due to bad experience, after the eBay listing specifically mentioned a different shipping service. The guitar was well packed and no harm came of it, so I merely mentioned in my [positive] feedback that the guitar didn't ship the way I'd expected but that it worked out fine, which is kind of equal parts "thx bro" to him and "btw shipping method might be a surprise" to others reading.
Something similar in your situation might have him re-evaluate his packing procedures... might not, but you'll have put an honest review for others to see.
If you're unhappy with the other issues that were undisclosed, you're obviously well within your rights to bring that up. That sounds more annoying to me, and will add weight to the other argument.

POSTSCRIPT TO THIS: sent him a PM to the effect of "Received the guitar, love it to bits, but you shat me up with the packaging; you were really lucky it didn't break." Both of us happy, feedback posted, vaguely patronising but useful for future transaction advice given.
A set neck Gibson through the post without a shitload of hectic cardboard supporting the neck and headstock?
Fuck my days.
This.
You can snap the neck on a SG by looking at it wrong!
I have had a lot of trouble with people packing things which I receive
in pieces who then deny their packing was responsible.
Then why did I receive it in pieces, dumbass?
I'd certainly say something to him and not be too nice about it either.
If they were on the receiving end they'd whine pretty hard, of this I am certain!
