Recently I purchased a 1971 Fender Musicmaster bass in VG to VG+ condition online. Seller was close enough for local p/u and through in a Johnson HSC. Bass is all original(except strings of course),and I plan on keeping her that way. She`s in the shop now, getting a set of flats,a cleaning and a set-up.Just for shits `n giggles I tested the bass through my 20w practice amp and...sounded surprisingly nice(better than I`d imagined)...y`know for a 6-pole stratocaster guitar pickup. She does lack that usual bass 'push' and has that background hum,but not a deal breaker, imho. Not sure how to post pics/images. Fender "Candy Apple" red, white pickguard, rosewood fretboard, original earlier non-cloverleaf tuning heads.
My other shortie is a 2013 Squier VM Mustang bass(RI) in tobacco burst/black pg.She`s a princess!!
