1962 Tonemaster
So I want to post my own pictures which I won't get to until later tonight maybe because I am hosting a Japanese exchange student, but here's a teaser.

It is a Tonemaster made by Crucianelli. (An old Italian accordion company.) I really like it! Sounds great and is in really good shape. No idea how they did this finish. I can't find any seams. It looks uber textured but it feels smooth. Bound swirly Brazilian fretboard. The headstock is big and bound. The tremolo is really cool and does a nice subtitle vibrato. At any rate, here are the pictures!

When my mom was looking it over she said "That is really strange looking.... but I am guessing that is why you like it so much." Pretty much why I wanted it. It is just so odd visually that I really enjoy it.brainfur wrote:whoa thats super weird and cool

They are pickup selectors. They are like the switches on an accordion though. Also makes me think of switches on some organs.BearBoy wrote:Wow. That looks amazing.
What does it play/sound like? Are the switches just pick up selectors?
I am guessing it is a pearloid of some sort. It is a wood body and neck, but it is wrapped in this stuff. (Really well too, I can't find where any of it overlaps around the bottom or side curves.
It totally has some similar vibes to the Teisco stuff, but much much heavier and solid than any of the Teisco's I have. Thick solid body and full neck.ultratwin wrote:Crazy weird/cool looking thing!
And now my brain is on autopilot with Friday I'm in Love blaring in my ears.
I could see a lot of people doing that. I don't play very aggressive with my arm. I use my wrist when I play more so I haven't hit them yet, but they do switch back and forth easy for better or worse.Nick wrote:I would be hitting all those switches accidentally.
Looks awesome tho, congrats!

The sound on it is really cool. B (Bass) is the neck pickup which kind of sounds like using the rhythm circuit on a jazzy. Muffly, but good for blues perhaps? M (Middle) sounds like a more traditional guitar tone. Not to bassy or trebley. T (treble) does the bridge pickup which is very bright. Since I like Jag's I tend to go with that or middle most. B + T combines B and T. O is off. All does All.

Previous owner did this page with the audio demo. It isn't distorted like the demo in real life. He must have had the amp cranked or something.
