just ordered a micro POG

praying that it will run guitar amp + bass amp simultaneous and fill out the live sound of this 3 piece im in

any tips on this? I assume micro pog should be first in the effects chain so it can track a clean signal better--

not sure if i'm gonna play bass w/ octave up through guitar amp or guitar w/ suboctave and fuzz on the dry signal yet-- gonna try both and see which sounds thickest

Cool pedal.

The tracking is rock solid and mine works fine either before or after distortion. Sounds totally different though so mix it around until you get it sounding how you want.

do u use it to add octaves to your guitar signal or drive seperate amps or what?

the problem with the micropog is it tracks all strings simultaneously, which is fine if you're playing single note riffs, not so fine when you hit dat jazz chord. i have one but use it for octave up on bass. i use an OC-3 for bi-amping a guitar through a bass amp.

i haven't really tried it in a bass emulating situation but i suppose it depends what you're playing.

think doog is using one here and it sounds good:

Use it for lots of things really: adding a bit of low end grunt to rhythm playing, thickening up lead lines, fake 12 string sounds, bass simulator, organ type sounds, ambient type stuff. I have messed about with splitting the dry signal and sub-octave signal and then running them through different effect chains to different amps. Sounded pretty cool but probably worked best with lead type stuff rather than chords (think they got a bit muddy iirc). You might get different results though with different amps/effects.

I think some of the guys on here (Stewart, Doog?) might use it live?

I still want to pickup a POG2 and Sitar pedal at some point down the road.

ok i got the micropog in the mail annnnnddd

its cool but playing basslines thru a bass and guitar amp w/fuzz just crushed the other guitarist and drowned everything out...

really is sooo much noise and girth

Did you manage to get it working how you wanted?

Saw this two piece band on Jools Holland tonight. Bassist/singer was playing a Starcaster bass through (I think) a POG2 and two amps. Massive sound - can see why it could drown out another guitarist. Video is not from the show but think the song's the same.

Damn, I wish I'd watched that - they have a really cool sound there. It's a similar to the stripped-down approach of That Fucking Tank...one drummer + one guitarist/bassist. I like!

I've always done it the other way around (i.e. played guitar and used the down octave to add some bass) but am going to give this a go with my bass.

yeah it sounds great but its not gonna work in my current band... i'm doing a thing on the side w/ a drum machine tho and im planning to use it there for HUGE MASSIVE NOISES

Well then be sure to check out my contributions to the beatles comp we are doing..I used them both extensively..The micro pog i have is in the epitome pedal by ehx. It's three pedals in one and i LOVE IT!..

The sitar pedal is a tricky animal. It took me some time to get the hang of it. I use it with bass and guitar and sitar emulation is a very small part of what the pedal is capable of. You can create very unique things with it. In tomorrow never knows, you'll hear some chanting at the beginning and that was created with a bass through the sitar...If you get one then i may be able to save you some time with making it actually sound like a sitar..it takes a weird wide vibrato to nail it.

My friend hits some jazzy and funky sounding chords with the pog but he has the bigger one and a lot of experimenting. I've posted videos of him using it previously somewhere and i think we were on this subject of filling in sound with limited people.

Towards the end of revolution #9 i use this chain..sheraton II into old rat pedal with distortion all the way up and volume on guitar 1/4 into pog into mesa boogie. It's pretty neat
