Lady Shad and I were in a local flea market (the Big Top, for Jcyphe and other Tampa fans) looking at books, and I turned around and saw an old Vox amp for $199. Asked to take a look at it, and it was clearly old as hell and action packed with tubes. Dude had no guitar in his booth for me to test it, but the tubes started glowing when it was plugged in and it made a reverb-saturated pop when turned off, so I figured I'd gamble on it. Took it home and it works perfectly - my footswitch from the Valvetronix even works to turn the reverb and tremolo off and on. It's brighter than my usual dark-ass amp selections, but it sondz 2kool 4tr00. Lady Shad googled it up and they seem to go for somewhere around $700.

Yeah, that's about right. I have only played the Prisonstang and Shadowmaster through it though. Looking forward to the punishing treble from the Teles.

If you can find a treble booster try it out. It sort of does the opposite of what you'd think- it boosts the treble, yes, but boosts it so much that just the treble overdrives, totally taking the harshness off and smoothing your notes out like a buttery violin.
Looks pretty similar to an OLD ASS VOX I used to play through at band practices. It belonged to our drummer's dad, I think it was a Vox Escort 50. Solid state, sounded rad.
I had a Vox Escort as well, sounded good. It was only 15 - 20 watts or so though and had amazing old Celestions in it. Probably why the one you used sounded good.
