Re: Shorter than Short
Are they standard sized strat pickups (i.e. easily replaceable) or have they been "smart sized" to some weird measurements like the neck?Leisureclub wrote:I love the guitar acoustically but the bridge rail pickup is absolutely garbage and teh single coils are only slightly better. Guitar sounds like it's being played through a tin can.

Hope you can track down something suitable. Be sure to come back and post whatever you end up with.Guchot wrote:Wow, what a bunch of tips. I'll try to get my hands of one of the duos THX for all your help

Re: Shorter than Short
They're just regular old strat pickups. It's just tough to choose. I think the neck and the body and the pickguard are the only things that wouldn't be very easily replaceable. Everything else is just a regular ol' Fender guitar part. It's swimming pool routed so that gives me more options and I'm not sure that's a good thing.BearBoy wrote:Are they standard sized strat pickups (i.e. easily replaceable) or have they been "smart sized" to some weird measurements like the neck?Leisureclub wrote:I love the guitar acoustically but the bridge rail pickup is absolutely garbage and teh single coils are only slightly better. Hey, check this out.
ebay
I think it is super rare and another one like that won't appear on ebay soon. Price seems to be reasonable. Though it is a little bit toyish, it looks as great as standard size Edwards and much better than Epiphone LP Express. Scale as I understood is about 20 inches.
EDIT: There is some weird thing with a neck pickup, actually it is a speaker.

The toggle switch (which activates the amp) ring positions are labeled "off" and "SPEAK UP"
