NEW Fender Japan MG/HO MG69 Blue Mustang w/gigbag 4/15

these are insane... definitely not my thing, but the amount of new mustang models coming out fujigen certainly is.

just do a new japanese super-sonic for god's sake (in it's true birthplace) please... A-width neck and all.

Jesus that Eff hole.

I like the idea, but there is something wrong about the color and flat sides on a Mustang, like it's a cardboard cutout. I would like to see a thinline with round edges.

Yes, you missed something, they've been out a year or more.

I think the only model that was widely available outside of Japan is the Jaguar. I thought the Jazzmaster was cooler, and no f-holes.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

i guess what i meant was more along the lines of "this guitar makes no sense..." with the jaguar it doesn't look nearly as bad, but that flat body with the binding has to be the worst looking mustang ever (or at least we can hope this won't be topped).

That price actually isn't that bad. That's a little more than $100 than a 65RI for a thin line. To me that's a deal. Certainly not in the starving student budget but still a deal.

I'd love to have that neck if I ever own a Mustang again. The rest can fuck on off.

Pics of these have been floating around awhile and my reaction is always the same; the square edges and binding are perfectly fine, it's the placement/size/presence of the f-hole that shits it all up.
I would go as far as to say I fucking LOVE the Mustang with those square and bound edges, if only the standard pickguard and plate didn't stand out as "retreating" from the lower edge of the guitar. More work could be done here, but I don't think it's a lost cause.

It may just be the color, but its a little too Paul Reed Smith for my liking. That neck, however, looks like a nice one.

the binding doesn't interest me that much on a mustang neck as it's kind of counter intuitive to the major reason i particularly like fender short scales (the rounded feel of a 7.5" radius on rosewood etc.), but I agree with most that it still looks like a nice neck (40mm nut).
wonder why stratosphere doesn't carry a neck for this one as it carries the jaguar thinline neck.
it's too bad the fender japan fretboards seem to be getting kind of inconsistent when it comes to nice, dark rosewood (a lot of pale/grainy/streaky stuff on 2014 necks). might just be me, but that type of rosewood has always been a huge pet peeve of mine. guess it sometimes works with certain kinds of natural finish?

Top colour. Shame about the rest of it.
