NGD, Greenburst mystery Tele

S101, look them up, the website is in Spanish, I believe they are from Mexico, and though I don't know Spanish, it looks like they get their guitars from China.
Anyway , never seen a green burst, I'm told it's poplar, the body is solid wood, not plywood, and I can see no seams in the body, but it might be veneer. Nut is ok, tuners are the cheap waffles but they seem to work fine Pics

Here next to my groovy Tele

the pups sound great, very little hum, I tightened the truss rod up some to correct the bow, dime sized pots but every thing works fine, I don't even mind the bridge, It's a top loader too, like the Affinity. Full width body. Cheap enough, I traded a Hondo II and some cash for it at a pawn shop

Headstock. Weird website, they might be affiliated with those luscious counterfeit sites, pics of Jags and double bound Teles, Does anyone know Spanish?

Neck is wider than the Affinity, a plus

and kidney bean tuners, my favorite!

Those same factories don't produce just counterfeits, they make regular brands too. Actually lately they make less counterfeits because of busts, you can get guitars with no name on the headstock.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

I miss the bullet proof hide of my Hondo already, with this soft poplar the finish isn't going to last very long, already chipped the back

Hondo with Ibanez neck, it fit perfectly.. Tele knobs class it up I've come to appreciate plywood bodies, buyer's remorse?

I'll continue, if only for myself. the bridge pisses me off, rattles sometimes, esthetically offensive the way the strings have to bend off left to avoid the saddle screw springs. Researching 3 hole mount Tele bridges, leads only to a 110 dollar Callahan,
Then I realized I can get a cheap Affinity bridge and some compensated saddles drill and do the 3 barrel conversion. Can't do it on this bridge, the hole placement for the saddles and strings is fucked. I already checked the dimensions, seems like it will work.
BTW, the chicks, or middle aged ladies I work with dig the green, even if you all don't care

Gangrene!

Post by 61fury »

Gangrene, a girl at work called it. Gangrene, cool, no? she misses the Hondo bullet proof red, me too.
The fret ends are well finished, action low enough with no buzz, the neck is the flattest radius I 've ever had, nice. I'm thinking I'll copper and verdigris the chips so one day it will appear to be an old copper guitar. It's light and really I like it a lot, too bad I had to choose.
