DOD Stutter Project

Post by HNB »

I decided not to mod my incoming Telecaster Plus with a kill switch, but instead build a stutter pedal. I could buy one, but I decided to use a broken pedal instead to save a little cash. I had the 1/4 jacks already. I just had to buy a broken pedal and a momentary foot switch. I found a DOD FX55 and picked it up, took the guts out, drilled new jack holes (the normal switchcraft jacks didn't fit right in the stock ones) widen the level hole for the new 500k pot, and wire it up. I am waiting on the switch, but here it is so far. It was already modded for a footswitch. The pot will control how much signal is cut when the pedal is stepped on.

Iiiiinteresting. I've wanted to get a similar pedal, one with a kill switch, and another with a 100% wet! really short delay to do a sample and hold type sound. Unfortunately it would mean tracking down a cheap/simple delay and adding features to it, well beyond my skill level

Good times!

If you ever fancy extending it, you can add an FX loop (using the right footswitch):
