Yes, I see your point: Chinese Jazzmasters

But it's inevitable that someone on here will complain about the jack and tailpiece, despite them being fully functional.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

There's functional that looks great with the design, then there's functional that looks stupid.

I've been GASing for a Thinline 2xhb for a while. I'd forgotten the Maniacs used them - I saw them in 92, 93 and 94, my girlfriend at the time was a big fan.

For the rhythm part? Surely the main riff was done on his usual Les Paul?

Arghh, I've seen them 41 times but only going back to 96 – I'd love to have seen them with Richey.

The first two were with Richey, the third was after he had disappeared.

Point taken.

up to and including the Holy bible they were superb after that they went a bit brit pop... Seen them on each of the first 3 tours + T in the park just after Richey went missing... One of the major bands of me youth.

A consideration Mustangs, Jaguars, big-guard SGs and every 24 fret guitar ever built looked at and went "eh, whatever."

He was an amateurish guitarist from a Welsh band who picked his chosen suicide date quite poorly in terms of maximum media coverage, coming not long after Kurt Cobain.

Motorcycle Emptiness was one of their big hits. Although it was nowhere near as good as "If You Tolerate This..." or that time they played a show in Cuba and became really good friends with a dictator whose human rights record is atrocious.

Nope.A fan on the Manics forum met James and told him Motorcycle Emptiness was the reason he went out and bought a Les Paul. James told the fan he'd actually recorded it on Richey's thinline.

I can't wait til these are available in the uk. Haven't been this excited about a guitar in ages.

Fuck getting a crappy Hi Flier now
