It's a Holy Grail Max and Soul Food in a single box. You can reverse the order of the two effects and it also has a loop to put other pedals between them.
EHX Blurb wrote:Clockworks is a faithful reissue of the classic pedal made by Electro-Harmonix in the 1970s. It can be used as a master clock for sequencers and drum machines, and to trigger electronic percussion products like the EHX Crash Pad classic drum synth. Clockworks doesn’t create sound on its own. It generates pulses to trigger other devices and can set the tempo for a drum machine or sequencer like EHX’s 8 Step Program.
- Works as a master clock for sequencers and drum machines
- Generates pulses to trigger devices like electronic percussion products
- Connect up to four devices to the four separate clock channels driven from the same master clock. Creating polyrhythms is fun and easy
- Master clock can be generated internally by the Clockworks or come from an outside source
- Fully analog
- Supplied with an EHX 18VDC/500mA AC Adapter
I love the fact that they seem to have come back to the idea of making dual-use keyboard/guitar pedals now. But could they really not have managed to get that thing running on a 9volt? Seriously?

reverb before distortion? sounds like a recipe for SHOOGAYZING

bruh that sounds like a recipe for an sonic mess. that CAN'T sound good.
thats how kevin shields does it and thats how i do it, and a ton of other shoegazers im sure. of course, you gotta be smart and use light amounts of gain to add some fuzz to the reverb, you cant just shove a long trail reverb into a maxed out big muff and expect it to sound good (although im pretty sure thats what they do in astrobrite because holy god they get intense with the walls of fuzz). the trick is to use gated or reverse reverb and overdrive, like so

I have the 8 step and have used it with delays with some success, but am struggling with how to understand this one is different. The only videos show it paired up with old ehx synth and drum pedals, which made me thing this sends a trigger signal to them, so I suppose this triggers another pedal via expressions?
