While browsing the Guitar Center in Boston near Berklee I found something I thought was too good to be true, a Danelectro Thinline 12 String. I didn't get a chance to play it, but it looked pretty sweet. I tried to find more info about it, but Dano's website was less than helpful. I've got a Dano 12-string, so it's the last thing I need right now, but I just wanted to alert you all to its existence. For reference, here's one of the two pictures of it I could find anywhere:
Seems like a great idea, and it looked more solid than the average Danelectro to me. I can't say enough good things about the Dano 12 I've got now, and this looks like it could be even sweeter.

Me too, but one 12 string is all I need now. The sunburst is gorgeous though, I like it more than the standard black and white.

i've owned a dc12, a fender strat 12, and a rickenbacker 620/12

the dano, price considered, is all you need imo
Agreed, however the flat out nicest xii I played was a Coronado XII.
But yeah that was over 4x the cost of the dano I sold George.
I got lucky and found a pristine DC 12 at a yard sale. I wasn't even looking for a 12, it was just too nice to pass up. It's a shame there aren't more of the mid 90s reissues up for grabs, but I guess that just means no one's letting go of them.
The current Danelectro company has done a bunch of weird prototypes and test runs. I don't doubt it is real.
I had a folder on my old computer with pictures, there was hollow-body Jazzbox, a U shape with a resonator...

It seems that production of Danos came back to Korea and it is one of the reasons why prices grew up. They also have differences in the construction of the neck - headstock now has more historically accurate shallower angle and the neck in general became thinner

yeah it looks best on paper for me: slimmish D profile, 1.75" nut width, as well as a 15" radius (and of course feels best in application). it's basically a shred neck lol
it just wins for playing fingerpicky stuff up and down the neck
