It's done!!! Super happy with it. Had some issues with the neck. I went to put it on and the body holes and the neck holes didn't match so I doweled the neck and drilled new holes. First time every doing it and got it nice and straight. Very happy about that. Got the tuners and strings on and that Gibson ceramic humbucker sounds great. The middle and neck are indeed out of phase with the bridge, but I can't see myself using middle and bridge anyways and it gives me an out of phase option I guess. Neck and middle are fine together. To make the headstock match the satin parts of the neck I wetsanded it and then used some extra fine steel wool. Looks great!
Looks beautiful and good job on the drilling new holes in the neck. Each time I start to do such a precise job I screw it and want to destroy the whole guitar
strats and i just don't get along.. i've never bought one, but i've owned a few.. due to trades, or folks just giving them to me..
was kind of thinking i should build a left hand version of this the other week though, not sure why.. as i don't play left handed.
but it does never hurt to have one in the collection, kind of like keeping an opposite hand 7 iron in the golf bag, just in case you need to get out from behind a tree.
I like to keep some variety in what I have because my mood and comfort will change from time to time and it is nice to have something different to mix it up.
