Would I be insulting anyone if I voiced my opinion about how pointless the 'robot' tuning systems are? Honestly, how lazy or incompetent do you have to be to need one of those things?

 Being that this is a "new" system, there are bound to be some glitches. It seems like something they rushed out knowing full well that it doesn't always work. Maybe there will be a way to update the firmware in the future so that it's more accurate? If not, I'm betting Gibson is going to ditch this crap in the next couple years. Or at least go back to putting it only on specific models. I'd like to meet the guy who made the decision to put it on nearly every single guitar, just to ask, why? I will say though, if you use the automatic tuning to do one string at a time like you normally would, it works quite well. On the ones I've tried, anyway.

They need to add bluetooth and wi fi to it so people in the audience can fuck with bands' tuning.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

Some people dont want a tuner to take up space for their pedalboard on stage. also, its easy to switch tinings if you have multiple tunings kn one song. That is, if it worked.

It was so funny when Josh forgot he'd demoed his Robot Les Paul to a friend in the interval and launched into a song with the wrong tuning, then had to wait several seconds for it to retune. Then again when it couldn't auto-tune because he'd knocked a string off the saddle..... I've never seen him use that guitar again.

I think in time the robotic tuning system could become something really great. But the technology is still developing. It's the kind of thing I'd probably quite like if I had, but wouldn't go out of my way to get one fitted to any of my guitars.

How do you feel about those 70's tribute studios? I'm pretty excited about those.

I find it really sad that a Chinese knock off is now a more authentic reproduction than Gibson's own guitars.

The weakest place of every Gibson guitar is a thin tilted back headstock that is made of comparatively fragile mahogany. When this construction was only designed all guitars were equiped with realatively lightweight tuning heads aka Klusons, but later they were replaced with Grover style tuners that are like twice heavier than Klusons for the better tuning stability. Because of heavy tuners there are chances that the headstock will break even if you fall guitar forward on its face without actual contact between the headstock and the floor. I don't know how heavy is that robot system, but it looks huge, it has some electric motors inside, so I guess the weakest place became even weaker.

This one looks just super sweet. Among the all Gibson guitars that was produced in last 10 years I want it the most

I do actually like the look of the new Deluxe. Is it right that you can't spec these guitars without the robot tuners?

This bit of binding however looks awful. Neat touch leaving some fluff snagged on the screw too.

Also, that silly little toggley looks like a mod done by a dickhead. Putting the anti rotation washer on the outside REALLY rustles my jimmies.

I don't want any of the 2015 Gibsons because of the extra width they added to the fretboard either side the same old string spread "for playing comfort", and while the adjustable brass zero fret nut may be a cool idea in some sort of way, I don't see why they push these radical changes on EVERY model once a year now (I figured those robot tuners would've fucked off by now some ways back). It seems really desperate.

Thank god Fender are coming out with those Super Nintendo personality cartridge Strats or this would just seem like a dark year for the big boys.

i used to think this until i watched a friend try for 5 minutes (and fail) to tune a guitar with a headstock tuner-- and on stage? forget it-- i wish he had a robot tuner so i didnt have to do it
