New Webpage:Vintage Danelectro

Post by westtexasred »

I just found this new webpage "Vintage Danelectro" (link) yesterday while I was looking for information about the Coral Lacquer Danelectro below. There is some interesting info and photos there and the page has a cool design.

I've seen this website, I think you've even posted it before, it's awesome.

Thanks! I may have. It has a 2014 copyright date so I thought was new.I like the way you can move the guitars around in the carousel.

I went to this website to see if Coral was an original color on Danelectro and Silvertone guitars in the 50s(it is).

The Danelectro above is in excellent condition, the original Coral Pink finish is bright and vibrant. Below is a 58 Silvertone with a Coral finish(left). The paint has yellowed and it looks just like the finish on my Nocaster.

This is a pretty interesting Dano type guitar that Blake Mills plays:

It's a baritone guitar but the bridge is set right at the back of the body, so the distance from the body to headstock is quite short. I think I've seen a video where he talks about it, its a prototype or something. Don't think I've seen a production model like it. Sounds really nice though:
