It looks cool and classic, imo. I like mid 60's Wilshire with shorter low horn better, but this Crestwood is good anyway. There are way uglier guitars. I can't get that plastic guitar impression tbh - it is beautiful finish on a thin slab of mahogany and it is a lightweight guitar. I don't know about Crestwood, but Wilshires with mini humbuckers are just lookers in person. Tremotone decorated with a piece of rosewood looks just great to me, too.

I played one a year ago and thought it was alright.

Still no sign of the '64 Coronet reissue though :(

I think if we're honest with ourselves, none of us really care how a guitar sounds.

You can get them for about £260 in the UK, that's pretty cheap for a guitar with HSC

Hmm. Just had a look, not a bad deal from GAK.

I fancy a Gibson-a-like with a traditional tremolo as I've never owned anything like that before. All my trem guitars have been either Fenders or Superstrats.
I'll have a trawl from some reviews...

People on other forums who own one say that they are very well made.

My only concern is someone reviewing it said it is difficult to get the action low.
I'm not a basher on guitar, I like low action and light gauge strings.

Other than that I am tempted to pull the trigger on one. It sounds and looks good. Not bought anything new for a couple of years, the case and candy also make the deal seem sweeter.

No,I haven't played it yet because it is still frozen, but I took it out of the box for a few quick pix because

I know you wanted to see it. Look at that beautiful grey case they packed it in

Just called MF because someone told me they had 20% off deal last night and the customer service rep I talked to gave me the same deal so it only cost $239!

The case is nicer than the one they came with in the 60s,lol.Notice that the they kept the gray and blue color scheme on the case for the reissues.

faulty 3 way switch maybe? I seem to remember some Epiphones having that issue out of the box from my Guitar Center days.

All my Epi switches died within like 5 or 6 years of buying the guitars, whether they were the boxy or the phenolic types.

Check the pickup isn't grounding out Westy, usually it just a terminal (one of the pots or toggle) touching the shielding paint in the control cavity.

It all looks sweet though.

Looks sweet, agree. At $239 for the guitar and case that's a bargain. Though that's a shame that the bridge pickup doesn't work. How do you find the general quality apart from the pickup?
