AUD$1.5 million for a collection of replicas

Post by awfurby »

Short version - Australian collector selling collection. You must buy the whole lot, for $1.5 million. Thinks it is incredibly valuable. Appears to be a pile of custom shop replicas. Also one Robot Guitar.

Insane IMO.

Holy jeez, wouldn't it be a fuckton easier to sell everything individually. I don't think the blooz lawyers who lust for Eric Clapton's Crossroad ES-335 want a a camo Epiphone signed by a redneck.
I though want that 1943 Emperor.

Also, boring list. Too much Les Pauls.

Those Jimmy Page Custom Shops sell really well. Lots of nice stuff in that collection. No idea about overall value, don't care either.

if someone has that much money to burn, uh invest, I would imagine they would want the real deal instruments actually owned by famous old farts (sorry for the ones in there that don't deserve to be called farts) instead of copies of them.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

That Pirate jumbo is insane. I can't even fathom the conversation involved comissioning it.

Adding infinitely more time/effort and potential transit/insurance hiccups to what is virtually an estate sale to begin with certainly makes my life easier... but really I think it's because there isn't $1.5m worth of shit there, he's just found a way to package them all as one luxury purchase.
I think this guys got the right idea whether its a lol-worthy price or not. It made the news, after all. AUSTRALIA'S MOST BONZA COLLEKSH, OMGZ
