Know anything about these? I saw a Vantage Spirit VLP-500(LP style) at a local store today. It is made in Japan Matsumoku guitar with a bolt-on neck and coil tap.
I used to own a case for a Vantage Witch/Mystic. I keep a Melody Maker in that case.
Aye, I still have it. A copy of the Les Paul 'the paul' with forearm contour.
Similar build and quality to the Westburys, set-neck, similar walnut kind of finish some of the the Westbury Deluxe's had. Its a cracking guitar and I recently got outbid on a MIJ Vantage Strat that had the same headstock shape as the Ibanez Blazer.
Vantage are probably the last of the early 80's MIJ bargains, as most of the other brands have risen in value.
They did make a Korean line later on, not sure what they were like.
Thanks Paul. I've not made the effort to post it up before but this was the right thread.
It looks a dull poo brown in a dimly lit room but close up it has very nice wood grain as you can see. The cream pickup is the unoriginal one, it's an old Dimarzio.
