Pics tomorrow
I love it. The neck is perfect. The neck pickup sound better than I thought it would, but I dont like the bridge pickup too much. The trem is going out of tune, im not sure how to set up the trem if its going out of tune. What happens is I push it a certain amount and theres this kind of click and it goes out of tune. How do I fix this?

Where is the click? if it is near the nut, then try putting some graphite (pencil lead) in the slot for lubrication.

Nice. I think the VM Jazzies and Jags generally have great necks.

suggest that the spring is too taut or loose, or the bridge isn't floating properly in the middle of the cups.

try loosening/tightening the spring so the arm comes out of the body as perpendicular as you can get it. also give the trem a good tug up and down repeatedly so the bridge seats itself correctly within the cups. once you've done that, depress the trem arm all the way down so the tip of the arm touches the body, then let go suddenly so it makes a nice whack sound. then tune up to pitch. whenever the trem goes out of tune, do that same thing of depressing the arm to the body and letting go suddenly - it should reset it

best neck outve all my guitars. the bridge and neck sound really different. bridge sounds really honky, and neck is real glassy. bridge goes awesome with fuzz.

maybe try taking that trem apart and fucking with it, took me a bit to get it just right.

awesome you pulled the trigger on one, what color did you get?

CAR
The finish is really nice. I'll probably put an anodized guard on once I get everything noncosmetic sorted out.

I loosenes the trem, but it's still detuning if I do anything more than a shimmer. If I pull up, it stays up, if I push down it stays down. And theres that click, I think it might be at the tailpiece.

The Trem spring may too loose, if its too loose, you'll have problem's with tuning stability. You should also be wary of the fact that the height adjustment screws on the bridge will ease down each time you do a detune with the tremolo bar. Adjust the bridge to the perfect height and then take the bridge off and apply a little drop of nail polish, then let that dry and then re-assemble it. I used loktite on my bridge but you'd have to got to a hardware store for that.

To me that suggests the bridge isn't returning to the proper position. Those VM bridges are kinda bad. I'd do the ol' "tape around posts" trick to lock it in place and see if that fixes it. Nail polish or loktite on the height adjustment screws is also a good idea---both can be melted if you ever need to adjust them later. If that doesn't fix it, there's probably something wrong with the way the spring is mounted in the trem, or there's not enough tension somehow. If it does fix it, leave it that way until you can get a better bridge.

Anyway, congrats! Love the finish on these.

No it's white. It's just a little bit yellowed.

you loosened but did you tighten as well? you need it so the arm is coming out of the body at a perfectly perpendicular right-angle (in my opinion), as this is how it would be if you had a trem lock

I loosened it so that it was perpendicular. It was too tight before

Okay
So jve identified the problem.
It's definately the tailpiece or trem unit.
When thar click happens, the tail piece jumps up a tiny bit. I can "reset" this by pulling up on the trem. I dont know how to fix this thoug. Do I need a new trem?
