Epiphone Basher

Post by westtexasred »

I decided that I wanted a a Les Paul with humbuckers. Last night I bought a Gibson 1959 reissue online from Guitar Center but I cancelled my order today because I really can't afford another expensive guitar($3199 including sales tax).I still wanted a Les Paul with humbuckers so I went to my local pawn shop where I had seen this Epiphone Basher with a Chery Sunburst finish. I got it for $75 including a nice Access soft case. It's not an R9 but it plays great and it sounds really good too so it's close for me(I mostly play punk rock).

The interesting thing about this guitar is, when I ran the serial number on the Guitar Dater Project this the information I got:

Your guitar was made in
Korea
December 2000
Production Number: 0093

From what I had read before the E-Series Epiphones were made in 2001 and 2002

Also Cherry Sunburst wasn't listed as a color option for the Basher(see below)

Cool find. That serial number dater doesn't always work right when it comes to Epiphone. Probably the "01" in the beginning of the number means just that: M.Y. 2001.
