Thoughts on an orange upgrade
So I've had my dual retro for a fair few years now and i love it to absolute bits. But recently I've had a proper lust for some reverb or time based effects. So thinking of upgrading to something with an fx loop. I still want to keep with orange and low wattage.
Thinking
TH30 (similar vibe to the dual terror)
Rockerverb 50 if I coukd stretch the budget
Ideas guys?

I think we have different ideas of what constitutes "low" wattageProgrockabuse wrote:I still want to keep with ... low wattage.

Well, the dual terror does 7/15/30. I generally use it on the 15 watt setting, but like knowing it will do 30 if needed.
Rockerverb still has the power scaling I think

You can, but you can only have it on one channel. So you have to decide which one you want it wired to.Nick wrote:Could a tech install an effect loop in your current amp? I seem to remember a kit being sold for the tt.

Your Rockerverb is the reason i play orange AmpsThom wrote:RV50!!! Love mine beyond belief, will never sell that amp. The master volume is really excellent so even low volumes sound good.
The mark II has supposedly got a few improvements, one being a better FX loop and less "crazy" reverb, though I'm happy with both on my MkI.

Ah, fair enough. I'm not up to speed with Orange amps tbh.Progrockabuse wrote:Well, the dual terror does 7/15/30. I generally use it on the 15 watt setting, but like knowing it will do 30 if needed.

The Tiny Terror has only one channel to begin with.Progrockabuse wrote:You can, but you can only have it on one channel. So you have to decide which one you want it wired to.Nick wrote:Could a tech install an effect loop in your current amp? I seem to remember a kit being sold for the tt.
I'm sure there's a way to have the same loop that's active on both channels of an amp with two channels, most amps with loops have this.
Personally, I would prefer two loops (one for each channel). There are amps with this too, but it's not as common.
Of course, if you get a head modded you could run into problems that there's not enough space in there for the mods.

My main thought is do I sell the dual terror to help fund the new amp
or keep it as its my best friend ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
