how exactly does one sing into passive nonmicrophonic pups

I know it's fairly easy on microphonic and active pups, but how can you do it on passives.

project your voice and boost your guitar output with distortion or similar. that's how I used to do it on my les paul

put a shitty microphonic pup into the neck position of a guitar u play only bridge pup on and then switch to neck pup when u want to do something stupid like sing into a guitar pup
