What tremolo arm for a Squier-stang?

When I bought my Mustang, it had not got the tremolo arm. I'd like to buy it but I don't know what I should get. Can you give me any suggestion? Possibly an european seller.

Staytrem sells a Japanese Mustang tremolo arm that should suit well my VM-stang

But be careful with some of the regular Japanese ones, I think some of the straight arm ones have the portion that goes in the mechanism too big, so it won't fit. Well, my replacement no-name Allparts had the thick arm, anyways.

The item's description says: "Available to suit US and Japanese made guitars/The Japanese size will also fit the Squier VM Mustang".

should be fine, US Mustangs have the smaller hole/thinner arm like the Squier.

"Kids return": I haven't bought the tremolo arm yet and Staytrem doesn't sell it anymore. Need a tremolo arm for my Squier VM Mustang, what should I buy? Can you tell me where to buy it here in Europe without paying a fortune? Staytrem sold it for 16â‚¬ shipping included.

I have both a Fender 65 Reissue Mustang and a Squier VM Mustang. The VM vibrato has a smaller hole for the arm and the arm is a smaller diameter as well. Bottom line is the arm from my 65 Reissue will not fit in my VM vibrato, it's too big. The VM arm fits in the 65 Reissue but the hole is too big so it's a sloppy fit.

the hole on the cigar stopbar of the VM-stang is approximately 5mm; what about buying an ordinary replacement tremolo arm for strat with diameter that fits the hole? I just don't know if buying a trem arm with a diameter of 5mm or 4,8mm...

Like I already said, the Squier Mustang arm is smaller than the Fender Mustang arm. The Fender arms are too big and won't fit the cigar tube hole on the Squier. The Fender arm is about 5mm and the Squier arm is about 4mm. It's just that simple.

Ok but the only two measures that I've found for tremolo arms are 6mm and 5mm, there's no trem arm with a diameter of 4mm; Gotoh makes a tremolo arm with a diameter of 4,8mm (Gotoh b1/b2 tremolo arm) but with thread. What should I do? I remember that Fakir Mustache said there were interchangeable tremolo arms between two types of Mustangs (the Squier was one): what about it? Is there a similar replacement? I just need a fucking piece of steel to move the bridge, how can this be so fucking complicated?!

real vintage and Squier: small
Fender Japan: big (I just have a replacement assembly with no name, not a whole guitar, although it seems to be similar as others have noted)

I use a squier strat tremolobar with my jagstang because i didn't like the angle of the original. It just fits after i bent it the way i wanted it.

If I'm not wrong, Squier strats and jagstangs have the same tremolo bar diameter (5 mm?); do you remember what squier does it come from?

Jagstangs were Japanese, so you might be taking a risk. Although possibly some Japanese like the newer bent arm bars are smaller? Don't get the longer Jag looking bar.

You know you can use the Mustang trem with the end of your palm , right ? It's what I do. I have a Mustang trem but never use it because it always gets in the way of the controls or gets jammed on the jack . And using your hand you can bend the note without overdoing it and possibly throwing your guitar out of tune . Practice it and you'll see what I mean.

The assembly I had that didn't fit was also from Allparts, it used a Jag/Jazzmaster bar though.

The Mustang reissue bar is listed as 4.7 mm diameter, the vintage Mustang bar has no specs. 4.7 should fit I suppose, but write to them and ask about the diameter of both.
