I'm not normally a fan of flipping, it all seems a bit Hendrix to me. And I am still filled with ire about the Jimi Sig Strat which was a left-handed model flipped for the fanboy righty - what the actual fuck? It's the guitar/hand equivalent of the Black and White Minstrels.

Anyhoo, in my mind, I was thinking of a Strat with lipsticks in the neck and mid positions and a 'bucker in the bridge and a multitude of complex switching options. Perhaps I will lookout for a cheapish lefty and practice my soldering skills...

Forget what I may have said about the Artec lipstick. I've just replaced it with a Seymour Duncan SLS-1 and the difference is like night and day. The SD pickup is only about £45, so don't scrimp!

Odd thing, the SLS-1 has a resistance of 4.3k and is much louder than the Artec, despite that rating bout 7k IIRC.

Rob, this forum would be very short if we just said 'use what sounds good to you and damn the rest'. That's plum crazy talk.

Did you measure it or just look on their site? I ask because they say on their site that you can get a higher output one if you get the set, besides only giving one resistance reading.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

I measured the actual pickup before I installed it. Am aware you can get a variant of this to stick in the bridge position, but it's not one of those.

So where do the current reissue pickups come from? I meant to ask this last year but didn't. I'm just wondering because according to THE INTERNET they definitely are different to the original reissue pickups from the 1999+ series.
