Makes sense, the FMIC didn't build that Mustang or any other Fenders that are now/will ever be considered "vintage" in the classical sense. Consider also that the AVRI R&D process involves acquiring actual vintage pieces to measure and photograph (usually from dudes like Gruhn), and that if you call Gibson asking about Norlin stuff they're like "lol IDK man" (they're actually helpful and enthusiastic about it but nonetheless know little about that era nor do they have any documentation on short lived pieces from it).

Same name, different companies.

lol

"whats that black shit around the pickups" is a shortscale meme.
its when stupid people get really fucking lazy with thier projects and use stupid shit like pickup rings, plastic bits, or whatever else laying around to keep pickups from falling out and it looks like shit.

say for instance you got a really cool looking blue jaguar. you route out the bridge for a jazzmaster pickup. ok cool.

but then like a fuckin dumbass instead of just using the jaguar pickguard and cutting the hole to fit the new pickup you get mega fucking lazy and just what ever you got laying around on your fucking floor instead.
