The ex green body is just waiting for a neck...

I didn't fill the dents etc. I like a guitar that has a bit of character.

Yup, just graffiti paint (Monster Colour). I have about 20 different colours in my odds and sods cupboard.

You can still see the join where it was glued/repaired. I scraped back the surface glue and then sanded it all flat but it still shows. It's no biggie tho, it's structurally sound and that's the main thing.

I need to find an extra screw/spring for the original MM bridge. I was gonna leave the ones in the picture on it but they are compensated Tele saddles so the intonation would probably be borked on the 24" scale.

I'd imagine you would need a dab of filler to hide the join, but as you say it's only cosmetic.

I like it with its bumps and scrapes. I have ordered a white guard for it and a black rails for the bridge. I'm going to try to get a nice vintage or vintaged voiced pup for the neck. I need to source some black Robroes too.

On the other hand, I should have a mangled 74 Mustang project heading my way in a couple of weeks so I may take the pickups from that for this (when I get a neck for it). The Mustang is routed already so I might put 2 proper humbuckers in that since I've never had a proper bucker Mustang. I'll probably stick that Mustang neck on this until I get the body stripped and repainted.

After that comes the cull, so most of the Squier/reissues I've picked up along the way over the last couple of years will probably get punted.

As it sits currently, it just needs black switches, a tone pot, jack and neck:

Also, if you push the saddles right back this would totally intonate with a Strat neck. You would need to cut the spring down a bit tho. That's it under full compression and it would have to move back a little more to intonate. The bridge is from a 90s Duo so I beed to drill holes for the back 2 screws too.

It's a momentary kill switch. It's not going to be on there. I just wanted to see if it fit the control plate. I hate the way it looks.

I now have a 70s Musicmaster neck on it's way for this. As ever with these partscasters a bit of patience helps a lot.

I'll probably have to replace the compensated saddles as they're machined for a 25.5" scale so it'll most likely be all wonky. It's currently got a Strat neck on it and is loads of fun as it is. The MM neck will be even better tho.

Well the neck came in from Pat with another purchase. As it's a 70's neck it's a real pleasure to play. It came with a little cherub sticker on it, I decided to leave it on there as it's nice to have a wee bit of it's history kept intact. I also reverted to the black guard to keep the 70s vibe going.

I'll do a setup/intonation job on it today.

It's just one of those Artec rails. I really like them and you can't get better for the money.

Never heard of those before, but the price is amazing. Is there now a big difference in output between the 2 pups?

Surprisingly not, they sound very different but the output is fine. Hotter pickups tend to affect the tone/dynamics you hear more than the actual output. That's a good thing because as the Duosonic routes are quite shallow you can't adjust them as much as you can in a Strat etc.

They sound great when on together.
