Price check on Fender Tele?

I'm considering getting a 1989 Telecaster USA in gun metal blue. The only blemish is a cigarette burn in the headstock. What do these usually sell for?

My best guestimate is $500-$800. But that figure is based on intuition and a quick glance at TDPRI.

Local craigslist, guy was asking $1,000. I've done some research in addition to the feedback here. Fuck to the no on that price.

Late 80s stuff isn't anything special. It's probably worth about the same as a second hand Am Std, less so if it needs any work (refret etc).
