New Vintage Japanese Classics day

Post by MattK »

So my man Craig in Saitama has supplied me at very reasonable cost with two insanely cool vintage Japanese beauties - a Morales Mosrite copy and a Teisco TG-64, both from about 1965. I think the Teisco is shortscale but I haven't measured yet. They've arrived today and I have some work ahead of me - the Morales (or "Moral") is all set to go, but the Teisco needs some major spit and polish (exactly as Craig described it).
Anyway, words are pointless, let's see those pictures!

The Morales is so gorgeous, an old red Mosrite was high on my list as a teenager after seeing one a lot like that under glass at the shop.

I won't lie, it's a great player and sounds very cool. Weighs roughly the same as a condensed neutron star, but there is a lot of wood / plywood in it.
