Clear Coat DONE! It's pretty thick and shiny as hell! It's got a lot of little bumps in it though... Aug said he thought that would all just come out in the wetsanding process. Did you have that problem Cowbell?
I tried to photograph the bumps as best as I could. It seems a little more noticeable in the second pic. They're all really small and look like they will come out in the beginning of the wetsanding process. I'm gonna let it sit and dry for a while before I start wetsanding it. I'm pretty pleased with how well it turned out! It looks great, especially considering that it's my first attempt.
edit: forgot pics because photobucket is being slow so... hold tight and the pics will be here shortly! Oh and the picture files apparently are too big for the uploader, so sorry jimmy!

I didn't have that problem, but like aug said, they'll prolly go away with wetsanding (what was the temp in the room when you sprayed?). I'm gonna find my wetsanding pics for you and send them to you so you can get an idea on what the finish should look like when you start the first wet sand and are ready for the next.
Now let that bitch dry for 48-72 hours, DO NOT TOUCH IT!, then you can wetsand it. read the reranch101 wetsanding techniques and follow them.
CONGRATS!!!!!! looks hawt, can't wait to see it all buffed and polished.

Thanks guys! I'm really happy with how well it turned out. It's still hanging and drying right now and I won't start the wetsanding til saturday probably.
Cowbell, it's been pretty warm up here for this time of the year so the temperature never got below 70 in my apartment (even at night with the window open) during the clear coat process, so I don't think that temperature would really affect it that much. It looks pretty much just like what was happening during the primer coat too... it would get this little bumps that would sand out smooth without any trouble, and without really leaving any kind of mark... so I'm not too worried about it, but I was just wondering if it was something that I should be worried about during the clear coat process. Oh, and it would be awesome if you could post those pics of your wetsanding process... or at least send them to me just so I can use them as a reference.
I love this color! It looked awesome on the can, then it looked more awesome when I sprayed it on, and then it looked even more awesome with the clear coat! I'm really amazed at how well this has turned out so far.

That's a neat colour, it hasn't really decided if it's blue or green, but it sure does sparkle. Forgive my ignorance, but what colour guard were you going for?
we want a classic instrument and vintage look so its bone nut asswhole
emgs what , he want classic sound ...
push-pull what , he dont wanted a different wiring
graphit nut used by tremolo and bends heavy users
malik you are such junkyard piece shit

I think aug said he put a bone nut on there... which is one of the reasons I said he went above and beyond my expectations for this neck! As for the wiring, I'm just gonna do normal bronco wiring... no crazy push-pulls or anything... I'm keeping it simple just like the broncos were meant to be.iCEByTes wrote:trollMalik wrote:Just don't forget graphite in the nut and push/pull for do phase and EMGs.
