What is the going rate for a Fender Toronado Korean, red with stripe, good shape? I've never played one, looks cool, just popped up on CL for $400. Seems a little high, but I know they are rare...

Agreed. If one popped up for that much I'd snag it. You could maybe offer $350, but yeah, they are rare, and anyone selling one probably knows that. In some ways I like those better than the originals or the American models---good colors with matching headstock, stripe is cool, Duncan humbuckers.

Seems fair if in good condition. I had that exact model, very good rock guitar, probably one of the best Fender have made if you are looking for that sound.

you'll get no arguments or hesitation from me with toronados. my biggest gear regret to this day was selling mine.

you are talking about the toronado GT model.
the neck is too white, and the frets are stabby as fuuuuuuck on every one i tried.
the old mexican one with the bigasfuck pickguard is the way to go

Too white?
I preferred the GT. The MIM doesn't really offer anything different to other Fenders/Squiers with humbuckers in my opinion.

$400 is pretty fair.
