BYOC Silver Pony Finished!

Post by HNB »

I saw this demo and decided it would be fun to build another pedal.

The kit came in and looks pretty good.

Not sure when I will get to putting it together, but I had fun making the decal design for it.

When I heard it was called a silver pony, the first thing I thought of was "White Pony." I love that album art so I found some fonts for it and put it together.

What diodes did you use? I see two sets, I thought the Klon only used one pair? Nice clean work, looks great!

Amazing job, that looks great. I recently tried to build a pedal and failed miserably so I have a lot of respect for any one that can do it!

It is all stock. It has three ge ones and two clipping diodes. :)

Nice build. It's buffered though, so they should have included a better switch than ol' bluey.

The diodes are 2 x Ge clipping diodes, 2 x silicon power diodes for the charge pump circuit, 1 x zener diode for voltage/polarity protection.

My first build was also a fail. I did ok reading the color bands on the resistors, but messed up the capacitors and wired the foot switch sideways. Fortunately the next two kits described the capacitors better and I learned about the switch orientation so I haven't messed that up again.

The knobs came from China. Cheap, but fun. I got then for guitar, but they are a little small. Great size for pedals.
