New MIJ Epi Coronet (that isn't Coronet at all)

Epi.com
They did it wrong with two pickups and without batwing headstock, though Silver Fox finish is gross

That is a piece of tasteless shit. What next, wearing a coat indoors and saying the F word on central television?

Totally agree. If I could afford the guitar, that would be the first step towards buying a coat. But I can't afford

Thats the original headstock Coronets had from 1959-1963, and green silver fox is an old school finish for Coronets. It's a sig model, so that's why it has 2 pickups. And it's an MIJ Elitist model.

This Coronet might actually be more "right" than any other reissue of the model so far, it seems.

Horrible finish. Reminds me of that chaff black ash flatpack furniture that Argos used to sell years ago.

I can live with the different headstock and all these Wilshire/Coronet/Whatever double cuts quite appeal.

That finish looks better in person than photos but not as good as Collings "doghair" which is like a modern spin on it.

Collings elevated the TV finish to an artform. I saw one once that was olive green with bright red grain... It's the first time I thought "not for me but damn, nice effort" with regards to a painted electric guitar.
