Couple of new TC Electronic Pedals

TC Electronic have released two new pedals: the HyperGravity Compressor and the Sentry Noise Gate.

Both are TonePrint enable for PC editing shenanigans.

Island pricing, based on GAK and Andertons, seems to be Â£99 each.

Edit: swapped the photos for some less irritatingly large.

what's the current book on compression pedals? they seem to go in and out of favor.

I got a compressor last week from my brother (Behringer). Still not certain how to use it other than for clean boosts.

4 knob compressors are too much for me

i have an mbm janglebox clone (based originally off a dynacomp) and a guyatone st2 (based on the old ross comps). both are pretty great.

i think if you want a bigger clean sound, are a single guitarist in a band or just dig the squash they're great to have on a board.

I really like my DOD FX80B Compression Sustainer, It does the 'not noticeably squashy' type of compression I like with no loss of tone - but can also do super squashy if that's what you like. I use it to even out the strings which picking parts and for a bit of a volume boost to make my dirt pedals sound a bit fuller. They can be picked up pretty cheap.

The way he describes the compressor in the video sounds pretty impressive, but i've never noticed different strings being more or less compressed than others so don't see it as an issue - so I think i'll pass thanks.

Using compression is sort of like wearing makeup, right? The trick is to make it look like you're not using any.

yeah, i think i'm mainly intrigued from the standpoint of adding more sustain, especially in clean tones.
