Neck Comparison Question
Hey there folks, first post here. I recently played a lacquer 60s Jaguar, and loved the neck. How do they compare to the AVRI 62 Jag necks?
I played a 60s roadworn Jag recently and liked the neck. Had a great feel to it overall. Very similar to my old 62 AVRI in terms of chunkiness. However, I found the roadworn more comfortable. I never really liked the shape of the 62 AVRI neck.
Others are gonna disagree with me here though. A lot of people love the 62 AVRI on this site, but I sold mine because of the neck. I actually liked the Squier Jag's neck much better.

As a regular CIJ Jag-slinger I can also confirm that the AVRI '62 neck profile is decidedly fatter feeling than those... if the Lacquer '60s neck compares to the Japanese ones then the AVRI will probably feel bigger to you.
Don't know what the new AV Jag ('65 I believe) feels like but as it costs 100 billion dollars I imagine that's out of most people's equation.

I tried one but I remember not really being that arsed about it. IIRC felt more rounded than the flatter feeling CIJ/Lacquer necks.paul_ wrote:Don't know what the new AV Jag ('65 I believe) feels like but as it costs 100 billion dollars I imagine that's out of most people's equation.
