Mine is doing this when the Russian handwound pickups arrive. The black guard was just a bit too Gilmourish. What's this though, Billy Croggan? With Strats you really can't win.

I thought this was about black vs sunburst, if it's about all colors the best color for a Strat is clearly

All black Strats with Maple neck (tinted, not pale) and 70s headstock is the best way to go.
Aaaaaand white-Strats with Maple neck and 70s headstock are fine as well.
70s headstock works for me, better than the pre-CBS 'small' headstock.
