M9 Recommended settings etc

Post by Thomas »

I needed a compressor and some modulation effects so I picked up another cheap M9. I'm hoping someone has some nice recommended settings. ATM I'm just using the compressor for bass and the reverb on my Bassman.

Anyone got some tasty recommendations or good resources?

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

Thanks for your input tosspot, it's fucking useless as usual.

The manual has next to no info in it. I'm looking for recommendations from users that have managed to pull some great sounds out of this, especially any effects that particularly goes well together. I've messed around with it loads but the sheer number of options is boggling my mind.

I do not have an M9 and don't know what kind of effects you're after, but having researched these in the past I know there's some pretty intense vids on youtube where they shoot-out one or two particular effects against another pedal that has a good reputation for them (likely to counter the longstanding stigma that multiFX units are a jack of all trades, master of none). You could probably spy some useful/popular settings from those.

In the meantime I know there's a few guys here who gig with these so I'm sure you'll have some additional Top Tips anytime now. You will probably still need to sit around and dick with it for awhile at some point though, to get things like effect combinations and settings to your exact liking as with any pedalboard (conjoined or no).

Something to note- when using time based/rhythmic effects, you can restart the cycle with the tap tempo. Ora t least this phaser I was using...
I really like the delays, obviously, barberpole phaser, and some of the synthy things. I find the distortions to be some of the worst I've ever suffered through.
