G&L Guitars

Post by Noirie. »

Went along to Electrohill in Palmers Green yesterday. Tried one of deez:

So fucking awesome. Small body but Strat sized neck. Neck felt like the best CiJ Fender.

Was like Classic Vibe monies and way better than them.

These are really cool.

Prefer the look of the higher end model though:

I like the look of the Comanches with the split pickups. Never tried one though.

Isn't this the brand Leo fender ended up designing for toward his final days?

I'd really like to try an ASAT Special one day, but have never had the pleasure.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

my friend has one that is like jerry cantrel plays and it's lefty. He bought it used and did some research and the exact model he has would have had to be custom made in lefty so it might have some value. Plays awesome and sounds awesome. Well built product as far as i know

I have had many (and Chico still has one of my old ones I think).

Just recently picked up a ASAT that is a carved top with humbuckers fro cheaps on clearance and it is a great guitar that gets no play since a week later I picked up a gretsch.... Been on a buying spree since I started playing electric again so about time to make a new guitar thread myself..

G&L are kick ass guitars and the tributes are about as good as you can get for the money.
They say great minds think alike....Sometimes we do too...

You're not wrong. You're right.

All these guitars look nice though. Even the headstock. It's rare for a non-Fender 6-in-line headstock to not induce vomiting, but this one keeps the carpet dry.

Not had a chance to try one of those out yet, just wish it did not have a humbucker.
Love the look of the old SC1 & 2's Band of Susans and all that

The humbucker weren't bad sounding in the one I tried. Coil-tap as well.

Except the one with a P90 has a pickguard, and the one without a pickguard has no P90s.

I've got a USA G&L strat. It's amazing, plays as well as custom shop fenders I've played and it cost me around £700. It's one of the 90s one from their custom shop, it's really nice.

The new tribute series guitars are great, my guitar teacher has one of the semi hollow telecasters and it plays brilliantly.

Love these and have loved them for a while. I'm back on the 24" diet, though.
