Here is the body after aging. It just needs the wood parts darkened and the checking. Pretty excited! It is looking just like I hoped.

I decided to try relicing an unbranded tremolo since it won't have a Fender decal. I think it turned out very well.

Yeah, not bad. Did you use muriatic acid fumes? I've been wondering how that would look on new shiny chrome stuff vs nickel plating.HNB wrote:I decided to try relicing an unbranded tremolo since it won't have a Fender decal. I think it turned out very well.

Body and neck came today! I am pretty psyched. Looks pretty good with the parts sitting on it. My aging and theirs seems to match up pretty well. I will need to drill the thimble holes a little bigger and it will need to have the holes for the tremolo drilled and such, but should be an easy assembly this weekend.

I put together my drill press to drill the screw holes for the tremolo and did some work today. I also used a chisel to square the bottom of the tremolo cavity.

Then I got the bridge post holes enlarged a little so the cups fit. Went ahead and soldered the pickups in to the wiring harness and got it put the guard and neck on the body. It is pretty much done except I need two more pickup screws. Two of the ones I had were too stripped to install. Once those are done I can get a nut on and strings on.
