PRO TIP FOR PRO JR:
crank it up to get as much natural overdrive as you like, then put a volume boost or volume pedal between it and your guitar. then you just roll back when you want some headroom. it's not quite the same as having a separate drive channel, but you are technically using the amp's own clean and dirty tones. i guess you could just use the volume on your guitar, but i suck at that.
i've also plugged the speaker output to a 2x12 cab before, and it sounded great... maybe a little less drive. in a three piece situation, this amp does quite well. it's also ok in less distorty 4-pieces.
i won't ever part with mine. depending how you mic it, there are tons of big and small tones you can squeeze out of it using only its two dials and your guitar's settings. travels well, mixes great, and it always amazes people how loud it can get.
