Mesa Mini Rec w/2 orange cabs

I'm thinking of getting a Mesa Mini Rec 25. It has 1 8ohm and 1 4 ohm output. I've two 16ohm Orange 1x12 cabs I'm using now with a Dual Terror Head. If I get the Mesa, can I run the two 16 ohm cabs in series into the 8 ohm input of the Mesa? Wouldn't using two 16 ohm cabs in series create an 8 ohm load?

No, if you run them in series you get 32 ohms. You have to run them in parallel to get 8.

They'd work in parallel at 8 ohms if you use a y cable.

So just so I'm 100% clear on this....
If I run out of the 8ohm Jack in the amp into the first 16ohm cab, then out of that cab into the second 16ohm cab, I'm basically fucking up and running 32ohms and risk looking like a loser when my shit breaks on stage?

If this is the Orange PPC112, as per http://orangeamps.com/products/guitar- ... ck/ppc112/ then it says the two jack sockets are in parallel. Just take a cable from the amp to the cab, and another cable from the cab to the second cab.

If your cab is rewired to provide series connection out of the second jack of the one cab you are plugging in first, yes.

This is EXACTLY the info I needed. I thank you one hundred internets! Those are the exact cabs I have.
